About this Project
When the industrial roller shutter at a heavy diesel mechanical facility in Port Hedland, Cummins, stopped operating altogether, the business needed a reliable solution to get the door back into everyday commercial use.
The existing motor had completely failed, leaving the team with no option but to manually close the large industrial shutter and keep it down until the necessary repairs could be carried out.
The Brief
Given the location and scale of the job, two of our technicians travelled to Port Hedland specifically to complete the works.
What We Did
Once on-site, the team assessed the shutter and existing motor setup before safely removing the failed unit.
A new Grifco E-Drive industrial motor was then installed and configured to suit the existing roller shutter. The team completed the necessary setup, adjustments, and operational testing to ensure the shutter was travelling correctly and the new motor was performing as required.
The Result
By the end of the job, the industrial roller shutter was back in full working order and ready to handle the demands of the facility’s day-to-day commercial operations.
For businesses operating in industrial, commercial and remote environments, downtime can quickly become disruptive. This project is a great example of how the Glide Rollers team can coordinate the technicians, equipment and travel required to get large industrial doors operational again — even when the job takes us well beyond the Perth metropolitan area.
